Cannabis policy reform is expected to be a pivotal issue in the 2026 elections, as more states and voters engage in debates around the legalization and decriminalization of marijuana. As public opinion shifts towards supporting regulated cannabis markets, many candidates are incorporating cannabis reform into their platforms, reflecting broader societal changes in attitudes about its medicinal and recreational use. The 2026 elections could see significant progress in shaping federal and state policies, with voters having the opportunity to influence legislation on cannabis through ballot initiatives and candidate selection.
