Once you send the email, please also consider following up with a call to your state senator's office. After submitting your email, a sample call script will appear for you to use, along with your senator’s name and the contact number for their office. You will need to mention the senator’s name because they share staff and office numbers.

Please be polite and concise and talk only about medical cannabis, not full legalization. 

Always remember, you are trying to persuade your senator, not alienate them. More likely than not, you will not be speaking to the senator, but to a member of their staff. 

Kindly ask whomever you speak with to pass your message along to the senator. If you get a voice mail, simply leave a message. Finally, if you are a patient, or the loved one of a patient, who might benefit from the passage of this medical marijuana law, please feel free to tell your story. If you voted, donated to, or volunteered for your senator, you can also mention that.
