MPP (Marijuana Policy Project), the foremost cannabis policy reform organization in the United States, is accepting applications for the position of Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Assistant’s main responsibility is to assist the Administrative and Human Resources departments at MPP with completing a variety of clerical duties including but not limited to redirecting inquiries to appropriate staff members, filling/scanning documents, and processing incoming correspondence.
This position requires close attention to detail, the ability to multi-task efficiently, and strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience in data maintenance is preferred but not required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
General Administrative/Operations Administration (100%)
Performing clerical tasks such as filing, scanning documents into an electronic system and making copies of documents
Assist in the maintenance of databases, including entering data
Process incoming and outgoing correspondence
Deposit checks, make copies and file.
Printing checks for Chief of Staff’s signature
Checking mailboxes at least three times a week and bring any urgent information to the Chief of Staff’s attention.
Support the Operations Coordinator with projects as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Commitment to the mission of the Marijuana Policy Project, appreciation for community nonprofits, and support for the organization's strategic goals
Strong customer-service orientation
Some familiarity with the nonprofit sector (as volunteer, employee, board member, client, constituent, etc.)
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in English (verbal and written, online and in social media)
Experience with business English including spelling and grammar
Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Maintain high professional ethical standards
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Take pride in responding quickly to all inquiries and requests
Impeccable follow-through skills
Intermediate to advanced skills with MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint/Keynote
Familiarity with Mac and other Apple products a plus
Bachelor’s Degree preferred (not required)
Non-profit experience is a plus but not a requirement
Compensation: $16.10/ Hour
