We Support Candidates Who Support Marijuana Policy Reform

The Marijuana Policy Project PAC supports state and federal candidates who support legalizing medical marijuana and/or regulating marijuana like alcohol.

For a sample of the kind of legislative efforts the MPP PAC supports, consider H.R. 1013, the Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol Act, introduced by Rep. Jared Polis (D-CO), and H.R. 1014, the Marijuana Tax Equity Act, introduced by Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR), which would replace marijuana prohibition with a comprehensive licensing and oversight system to tax and regulate the production, distribution, and sale of marijuana. As members of Congress get behind these kinds of bills, we need to show them our appreciation — and keep them in Congress! — by supporting them financially.

MPP’s PAC contributed to the winning campaigns of Gov. Pete Shumlin (D-VT), pictured at left, and U.S. Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), pictured at center with MPP’s Rob Kampia, in 2010. It also supported U.S. Rep. Jared Polis (D-CO), pictured at right with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and MPP’s Mason Tvert, in his successful primary upset to win a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2012.

The Marijuana Policy Project PAC is nonpartisan, and contributions are not tax-deductible. Individuals may donate up to $5,000 — and married couples may donate up to $10,000 — per calendar year.
