Title:

Ask Gov. Mead to veto HB 69

Message:

The Wyoming Legislature recently passed HB 69, a bill stating that, with the exception of dronabinol, any prescription or order from a physician for marijuana, THC, or synthetic THC, is invalid. Please call Governor Matt Mead today and ask that he veto this legislation.

This bill has been a waste of legislative time. No physician, even those in states with medical marijuana laws, may prescribe marijuana because it is a Schedule I substance. Furthermore, Wyoming’s law does not protect patients using medical marijuana, so a physician's order to use would be irrelevant and no defense to a marijuana charge. Finally, this bill indicates a strong hostility to medical marijuana, which 81% of the American public supports allowing.

Please contact the governor and point out the absurdity of this bill.

Instead of promoting bills that will affect no change and are simply driven by animus towards a particular population, encourage the governor to champion for compassion and common sense by advocating for a medical marijuana bill.

Thank you for your time.
