Annual Pro-marijuana Legalization Hash Bash Hits Snag
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP)—This year's planned Hash Bash in Ann Arbor has hit a snag.
The Michigan Daily and The Ann Arbor News report organizers of the pro-marijuana legalization event learned that the Diag on the campus of the University of Michigan has been reserved for April 5 by a student organization.
The annual Hash Bash, which typically is held at the Diag, also is planned for that day.
School spokeswoman Linda Hancock Green says the student group, which she declined to identify, reserved the Diag last fall.
Longtime Hash Bash organizer Rich Birkett says the pro-marijuana group still plans to gather at the Diag.
Campus police say the group won't be able to use amplified sound because the other group has the permit, but Hash Bash organizers disagree. |
