Wisconsin voters support medical marijuana

Published: November 3, 2010

Yesterday, voters in River Falls and Dane County, Wisconsin were asked on their local ballots if they support medical access to marijuana for seriously ill residents so long as their doctor recommends its use. The non-binding question passed in both  River Falls (68% - 32%) and Dane County (75.5% - 24.5%)!

As you may recall, last session lawmakers in Madison debated a medical marijuana bill yet failed to take a vote on the issue. The overwhelming support by residents of both Dane County and River Falls on these non-binding advisory referendums signals to legislators that medical marijuana is a serious and important issue to the voters.

A big thanks goes out to all who made these advisory referendums possible and especially to the good people of Dane County and River Falls for so clearly voting for compassion.
