Wisconsin medical marijuana bill is formally introduced

Message:

The Wisconsin medical marijuana bill was formally introduced yesterday as Assembly Bill 715 and referred to the Committee on Criminal Justice.

In addition to lead sponsors Frank Boyle (D-Superior) and Mark Pocan (D-Madison), eight Representatives are co-sponsoring the bill, including Republican Rick Skindrud (Mount Horeb).

Thank you to everyone who used MPP's Wisconsin Web site to encourage their legislators to co-sponsor the bill. You can obtain the full text of the bill and a complete list of co-sponsors at MPP's site.

It is now time to encourage committee members to give the bill a hearing and recommend its passage in the Assembly.

Please use the Take Action page on MPP's site to e-mail members of the Criminal Justice Committee. Tell them to take positive action on A.B. 715.

Several pre-written letters are provided for your convenience, and all 14 members of the committee can be reached with a single e-mail.

Thank you for your time and effort in the struggle to protect Wisconsin patients who need to use medical marijuana under state law.
