Title:
How can you help in West Virginia?
Message:
Last Tuesday evening, medical marijuana advocates held a very successful public forum in the House of Delegates chamber. Delegate Mike Manypenny (D-Taylor) hosted the forum, which was covered by the Charleston Gazette and other media outlets. Featured speakers included a physician, a retired police lieutenant, and the president-elect of the West Virginia Nurses’ Association — a very impressive line-up!
As a West Virginia native, I was honored to have had the opportunity to speak alongside such well-respected advocates in my home state. I described this special experience here at the MPP blog.
Since the forum, dozens of medical marijuana supporters have contacted me, all with the same question: “How can I help?” I’ve done my best to produce a useful answer in the form of this one-page document, which explains how you can effectively reach out to your delegates and senators.
If legislators start hearing from dozens of their constituents and seeing letters published in their local newspapers, they will soon understand that supporting a medical marijuana law is a good choice — that it is both good politics and good policy.
Good luck, and please let me know how it goes!
