Title:

Ask your representative to support medical marijuana reform

Message:

E2SSB 5073, a bill that would, among other things, establish a regulatory system for the sale and purchase of medical marijuana for qualifying patients, is scheduled for executive committee in the House Health Care & Wellness Committee today at 1:30 p.m. The bill is expected to quickly move through the remainder of the committee process, so please e-mail your representative TODAY and ask him or her to help protect patients by supporting E2SSB 5073!

Currently, all medical marijuana patients in Washington are subject to arrest and are given only an affirmative defense at trial. In addition to allowing the regulated dispensing of medical marijuana, this bill would protect patients who sign up for a voluntary registry from arrest and prosecution by allowing law enforcement to quickly determine that they are in legal compliance with state law. Ask your representative to support this bill, but to amend the language to protect all patients from arrest and prosecution.

This bill will move quickly, so please e-mail your representative now and feel free to pass this along to your friends and family so that they too can make their voices heard.
