Public hearing Wednesday and#x2026; come to support marijuana policy reform in Virginia

Tomorrow, Wednesday, December 3, is your chance to support marijuana policy reform in Virginia. The Virginia State Crime Commission will hold a public hearing at 10:00 a.m. in Senate room A of the General Assembly Building, which is located on the corner of 9th St. and Broad St. in Richmond.
This public hearing will focus on the results of the 18.2 Commission, which was created by the Virginia General Assembly to recommend changes to the criminal code in order to save criminal justice resources. The 18.2 Commission neglected to recommend reducing marijuana possession penalties, which currently waste significant resources and have not made for a safer Virginia.
Reforming Virginia's marijuana policy would save millions of dollars in criminal justice expenses. More important, it would save responsible adult marijuana users from the hassles of court appearances, legal fees, and the threat of serving up to as many as 30 days in jail.
Take this chance as a citizen to show your disgust with the commission … to stand in solidarity with other Virginians who want to reform their state's—your state's—arbitrarily harsh marijuana laws.
