Title:

Vt. Senate joins House in support of decriminalization!

Message:

Vermont’s bill reducing penalties for marijuana possession took a major step forward today when the Senate voted 24-6 in favor. H. 200 will require another Senate vote, expected within the next week, before it returns to the House for final approval and is transmitted to Gov. Shumlin for his signature.

It is too early to begin celebrating this victory, but we are very pleased to see that H. 200 appears well on its way to becoming law. If you’ve been pestering your senators and representatives for months on this issue, please take a moment to thank them for considering your opinions.

We are certain that these conversations about improving marijuana policy will continue in Montpelier, and we will do our best to keep you informed. But for now, thanks for all your help building support for H. 200!
