Title:

Vermont Senate voting this week on dispensaries

Message:

Call your senator today!

After winning approval in not one, but two Senate committees, Vermont’s medical marijuana dispensary bill is headed to the Senate floor this week. Now is the time to call your senator and tell him or her to vote “yes” on this important and sensible measure, S. 17.

Please call 802-828-2228 to reach the Senate Sergeant at Arms switchboard, and share your support for dispensary legislation with your senator. Tell him or her patients throughout the state have a legal right to use marijuana, but no legal way to obtain doctor-recommended medicine. Dispensaries would solve this problem, with the added benefits of directing money away from drug dealers and toward tax-paying, law abiding businesses, and removing patients from potentially dangerous situations. Send me any feedback you get from the call – driffle@mpp.org.

The Government Operations and Finance committees have already approved the bill, but as today’s feature in the Burlington Free Press shows, there’s a lot riding on this, so we’re not taking anything for granted. Please call 802-828-2228 and ask your senator to vote “yes” on S. 17.

Thanks for all you do!
