Vermont lobby day on Friday
The Vermont Legislature is considering two bills that would reduce the penalty for possessing up to an ounce of marijuana from up to six months in jail to a $100 civil fine. H.150, sponsored by Rep. David Zuckerman (P-Burlington), and S.71, sponsored by Sen. Jeanette White (D-Putney), were introduced last week.
To help with the effort to pass H.150 and S.71, the Vermont Alliance for Intelligent Drug Laws (VALID), an MPP grantee, has scheduled a lobby day in Montpelier on Friday, February 13.
From 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. there will be a breakfast in the State House cafeteria at which you can chat with your legislators. If you are planning to attend, please contact Nancy Lynch by e-mailing info@validvt.org. Most people will be sticking around the capitol to have lunch with their legislators from 12:00 p.m. 1:00 p.m. If you would like to come to have lunch with your state legislator, please contact Nancy Lynch and she will help you schedule it.
