New Mexico Allows for Medical Marijuana Use
A new medical marijuana program begins Sunday in New Mexico.
New Mexicans living with HIV, aids, and other specified conditions can apply with The Department of Health to receive certificates allowing them to carry a three-month supply of marijuana.
Doctors must certify that applicants are eligible.
New Mexico has become the 12th state to legalize the use of medical marijuana.
It's also the only state whose law calls for state-licensed production and distribution of the drug.
