Title:

Tennessee legislative committee to hold medical marijuana hearing

Message:

Sponsored by Rep. Jeanne Richardson, HB 294 seeks to allow Tennessee residents diagnosed with debilitating medical conditions such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, multiple sclerosis, and glaucoma to use medical marijuana without fear of arrest. The bill was introduced in January of last year, but tomorrow it may finally be getting a long-awaited hearing in the House Health and Human Resources Committee.

Please ask your elected officials to support HB 294.

The bill is on a long list of legislation the committee is scheduled to discuss tomorrow, and it may well be that they don’t get to HB 294 and the hearing is rescheduled for a later date. Still, the bill is on the calendar and will almost certainly come before the committee sometime soon. There are some technical amendments that will need to be made to the bill for it to be effective, but it’s vital that legislators learn their constituents support this bill.

Right now, the most important thing for you to do is to use our automated system to email your elected officials and share your support for bringing medical marijuana access to the Volunteer State. After that, if you’re hungry for more, write a letter to the editor of your local paper.

Thanks for all you do!
