Title:

Act now to support medical marijuana in Tennessee

Message:

Twin medical marijuana bills were recently introduced in the Tennessee General Assembly. Rep. Beverly Marrero (D-89) is sponsoring H.B. 486, and Sen. Shea Flinn (D-30) is the sponsor of S.B. 641. Both bills would enact the "Medical Marijuana Act of 2007" and protect seriously ill patients from arrest and prison.

Now the time has come to convince Tennessee's lawmakers that this issue is vital to the state's residents. Please click here to send a letter to your legislators, urging them to support medical marijuana.

After you've sent your letter, please follow up with a phone call. If you already know who your senator and representative are, please call them and strongly urge them to support medical marijuana this session. If you don't know who your elected officials are, please visit this page to look them up based on your address.

Please remember to take action now.

Many of you have already contacted MPP wanting to get involved, and we thank you for your support and dedication. Right now, the legislature is sorting through thousands of bills and has yet to assign them to committees. When the medical marijuana bills have been assigned, you will receive another alert with more details on what you can do to help. Be assured that when the time comes, your voice will be put to good use!

If you are a medical marijuana patient, or if you know somebody who might benefit from medical marijuana, and we haven't heard from you yet, please e-mail Anthony@mpp.org. Additionally, if you are a doctor or nurse, law enforcement official, or member of the clergy, please e-mail to see how you can be of special help.

Thank you for supporting the Marijuana Policy Project. Please forward this message along to your family and friends in Tennessee. With your help, we can make progress towards making Tennessee the 12th state to protect seriously ill medical marijuana patients.
