R.I.: Under Pressure

Published: June 29, 2011

Yesterday, dozens of Rhode Island residents contacted legislative leadership to push for a vote on marijuana decriminalization legislation. Today, we need you to keep the pressure on! In addition to constituent pressure, leadership must also hear that the legislators want to vote on this proposal. Please take one minute of your time to email your senator and representative, and ask them to lobby leadership to give the bill a vote.

As I mentioned yesterday, we’re running out of time to get this done, so it’s essential that leadership give this bill a vote by week’s end. Please email your legislators now, and ask them to push leadership for a vote on marijuana decriminalization.

We need as many supportive Ocean Staters as possible to take action, so urge your friends and family in Rhode Island to reach out to their legislators as well. Please also take an additional 30 seconds and post this link to your social media sites.

By now, we all know the reasons why decriminalizing marijuana is a good idea; most legislators and the Providence Journal agree. Please, email your legislators today , and ask them to make sure leadership calls a vote.

Thank you so much for your help.
