Rhode Island: We need volunteers!
Published: June 2, 2010
As you are well aware of at this point, MPP has been working hard all session to pass marijuana decriminalization legislation in Rhode Island that would replace the current criminal penalties for simple possession of up to an ounce of marijuana with the a more sensible simple civil fine. This would save the state millions of dollars and save otherwise law-abiding citizens from a criminal record.
We have had hearings in both the House and the Senate and now need the bill to get a vote. In order to secure this important vote, we need your help. Please consider volunteering your time and energy to help pass marijuana decriminalization legislation in Rhode Island. Please e-mail me at rcapecchi@mpp.org if you are interested in volunteering to help generate constituent contact to the legislative leadership. I can provide you with prepared documents and direction to get you started.
We are closing in on the final weeks of the 2010 session. It is important to get a vote as soon as possible. You can help get that important vote. Again, if you are interested in volunteering, please e-mail me at rcapecchi@mpp.org.
Also, please send this e-mail to your friends so they too can help end draconian marijuana policy in Rhode Island.
Thanks for your time.
