Title:

N.D.: You can be an official sponsor of a medical marijuana initiative!

Message:

A couple of months ago, we sent you a message similar to this one. But with the deadline for submitting ballot initiative language to the state approaching, we wanted to make one final request for your involvement in the beginning stages of this campaign.

A committee in your state, North Dakotans for Compassionate Care, plans to place a medical marijuana ballot initiative on the November 2012 ballot.

If enacted, this initiative would ensure that seriously ill patients would be able to use marijuana to alleviate their suffering without the threat of arrest. It would improve the lives of thousands of North Dakotans, and we intend to support it through passage.

But the committee cannot do this alone — literally. The state of North Dakota requires a proposed initiative to have 25 residents as official "sponsors." These sponsors do not have any specific campaign responsibilities, but they will be publicly expressing their support for the initiative.

If you are interested in being a sponsor or know someone else who might be, please send us an email today at NDsponsors@mpp.org. A member of the committee will respond quickly with information about how to add your name to the initiative.

Thanks in advance for your interest in this campaign.
