Title:
MPP publishes voter guide for Rhode Island’s Sept. 11 primary!
Message:
Rhode Island’s primary election is Tuesday, September 11. This past year was an exciting and successful one for marijuana policy in Rhode Island, with the passage of both decriminalization legislation and a compassion center revision law. Our main legislative goal in Rhode Island for the upcoming years will now turn to passing taxation and regulation legislation — allowing adults 21 and older to possess and grow limited amounts of marijuana and allowing its sale through taxed and regulated entities.
To that end, we recently sent a three-question survey to all candidates for and state Senate and House of Representatives, asking about their positions on medical marijuana, taxation and regulation, and whether they believe marijuana policy should be decided on the state, rather than the federal, level.
We’ve finished compiling the responses we received — along with candidates’ records — and our voter guide, titled “Marijuana Policy and the 2012 Rhode Island Election,” is now available! Check it out here, and please share it with your friends!
