I wanted to remind all registered Democrats in Oregon to vote for Ellen Rosenblum in tomorrow’s primary election. Rosenblum is a former federal prosecutor, private practitioner, and judge. She is a native of Oregon and — perhaps most importantly to some — she is a staunch supporter of marijuana policy reform and has pledged to protect Oregon’s medical marijuana patients and program.
Take a minute to contrast Rosenblum’s stance on marijuana policy with her opponent in the primary, Dwight Holton. Holton, a native of Virginia, is a former interim U.S. attorney. While U.S. attorney, he issued saber-rattling letters and organized a military style raid of a southern Oregon, state law compliant, medical marijuana garden. It is pretty clear that Rosenblum is the better choice when it comes to protecting state law.
There is no Republican candidate for attorney general, so the winner of tomorrow’s primary will be the next top law enforcement official in the state.
