Ore.: OCTA qualifies for ballot; register to vote today!

Message:

Late Friday evening, official word came from the Oregon Secretary of State’s Office that the Oregon Cannabis Tax Act has qualified for November’s general election ballot! The question, now known as Measure 80, will ask voters if the state should end its costly marijuana prohibition and replace it with a system of regulated production and adult-only distribution of marijuana. Oregonians join their neighbors in Washington and the good people of Colorado as the third state citizenry to be allowed to vote on this crucial issue come November 6.

As exciting as this news is, qualification for the ballot marks the beginning of what is sure to be a hotly contested initiative. In addition to supporting the idea in principle, please consider volunteering for the campaign. Also, it is imperative that your voter registration is current and that it stays current through November 6. Finally, please let your family and friends know about their opportunity to vote for real and necessary change come November.
