Title:

Fourteen days to help Oregon Dispensary Initiative qualify

Message:

The Oregon Dispensary Initiative needs your help now to gather the final signatures to ensure it will be on the ballot!

Initiative 28 would create a system of dispensaries to supplement Oregon's medical marijuana law, which requires patients to produce their own medicine. The current law exempts patients from arrest but makes it a felony to sell medicine to them. I 28 will fix this problem. The initiative will also create a program to assist indigent patients, allow DHS to conduct research to establish quality control standards and raise money for health programs.

Polling shows that 59% of likely Oregon voters support this measure. Voter Power has collected and turned in over 110,000 signatures to qualify this measure for the November ballot.

Backers are waiting to hear from the Secretary of State regarding how many signatures were valid registered voters but expect to need another 10,000 volunteer signatures by July 2 to guarantee that this important initiative qualifies for the ballot.

If you gather just 10 signatures it will make a huge difference! To have petitions mailed to you call 503-224-3051 or 541-245-6634 or e-mail johns@voterpower.org. Please get involved and make safe access in Oregon a reality.
