Why wasn't there a Protocol C ("Smith Reconsiders Alcohol, Drug Policy," Jan. 10, 2008), recommending to re-legalize cannabis (marijuana) since it's safer than alcohol, especially when compared to whiskey? Responsible adult use of the relatively safe God-given plant cannabis should not result in six to nine months of probation, a fine of $100 and a required marijuana intervention program. Cannabis use should be treated as less dangerous and addictive than alcohol, not an equal or more dangerous substance.
