Marijuana Policy Project

U.S. Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) has proposed the decriminalization of personal possession of small amounts of marijuana legalized, along with so called non-profit transfer of marijuana (in other words, giving somebody a joint).

I think it's a high time that happened. Adults who smoke reefer in the privacy of their own homes do no more harm to the public than any moderate-drinking nightclub patrons. Many can attest to cannabis's medicinal value as well. It may not be totally harmless, but why keep it illegal when you can buy worse things legally at your neighborhood pharmacy or grocery store. Plus, instead of spending their time busting 25-year-olds for a few doobies, the police can go after the really dangerous people.
