Raleigh, N.C. — The former U.S. Surgeon General supports legalizing medical marijuana in North Carolina. Joycelyn Elders says marijuana could help people with chronic pain and nausea find relief.
She spoke Wednesday before a state house committee.
That committee is considering whether the general assembly should study whether medical marijuana would be beneficial.
Elders said medical marijuana is safer than other drugs and it doesn't lead to an increase in drug use. |
