Celebs brave enough to show up walked a thin line at the Marijuana Policy Project Awards Dinner at Capitale last week.
MTV's Kurt Loder, under contract with Viacom, wasn't allowed to do much talking. But his presence at the event spoke for itself.
"I consider myself a liberal," he told Gatecrasher's Laura Schreffler, adding, "I do believe that marijuana should be legalized, but I don't smoke anymore."
Montel Williams was able to be a little less guarded, as doctors have prescribed the fragrant herb to him for his MS.
But the most novel excuse for not showing up belonged to Mary-Louise Parker: She couldn't come because she was shooting her series "Weeds," in which she plays a pot dealer.
