Letter: Allow Medical Marijuana Use

The Albany Times-Union (NY)
I was happy to see that medical marijuana legislation has been reintroduced in our state Legislature. But I was disappointed that the Times Union did not cover it as did the other newspapers around the state. It's clear that marijuana really does help some terribly ill patients, and it makes no sense to criminalize the sick for seeking relief.
I have served my country and am now a disabled Armed Services veteran with chronic pain from a back injury. My pain has been so bad that I have had to call 911. While I have tried medical marijuana in the past, and I know how much it can help me, I am not using it because it is currently illegal. Please help me gain access to medicine I need.
Thirteen states — one quarter of the country — now allow medical use of marijuana, and the sky has not fallen anywhere. Please support A. 7542 and S. 4041, it's time for New York to be number 14. |
