Drug policy forum to be held this Saturday

Message:

As a prelude to the 2002 state legislative session, a drug policy forum will be held in Santa Fe this Saturday, January 5, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation located on the corner of Barcelona Road and Galisteo Street.

The forum will feature Ethan Nadelman, executive director of The Lindesmith Center-Drug Policy Foundation, and Katharine Huffman, director of the New Mexico Drug Policy Project, as well as a distinguished panel.

In the legislative session that begins on January 15, Governor Gary Johnson will push for the passage of a drug policy reform package that includes a medical marijuana bill and a bill to decriminalize the possession of small amounts of marijuana.

You can read more about the proposals at the governor's web site: http://governor.state.nm.us/drugpolicy/
