Act today! Call the representatives who voted NO on medical marijuana and urge them to change their vote.

Last week, New Mexico's House of Representatives voted down SB 238, the medical marijuana bill, by a 36-33 vote. Medical marijuana still has a chance of passing this year, however, in the form of SB 523. (SB 523 originally only pertained to topical use of medical marijuana, but has since been divoadened to reflect the original bill's recommendations.) SB 523 passed the full Senate recently, so now is the time to put pressure on the "no" votes in the House so that they vote "yes" instead.
The following representatives all voted "no" on medical marijuana its first time around (and one legislator excused himself and did not vote). If you recognize one of these representatives as your own, please take a few moments to call him or her and strongly encourage a YES vote on SB 523. (The area code for all these numbers is 505.)
We must garner as much support for medical marijuana as possible, so even if you don't recognize any of these names, please call as many as you can.
E-mail addresses have also been provided for most of the representatives. However, please bear in mind that legislators receive countless e-mails a day, and that a phone call has a much, much greater impact.
