Support N.J. medical marijuana bill
On Thursday, June 4 the Assembly Health and Senior Services Committee voted 8-1 in favor of A804, the medical marijuana bill. The bill should now go to the Assembly floor for a vote by the full chamber. It has already passed the Senate and Gov. Jon Corzine (D) has said he'll sign it.
The Drug Policy Alliance New Jersey is leading the lobbying effort to pass this important legislation. Here are several things you can do to help their efforts:
1) If you haven't already contacted your Assemblymembers, please do so now — it will only take a moment. Please forward this link to your friends and family in New Jersey so they too can take action. 2) Numerous newspapers across the state covered the committee hearing and vote. To keep this issue in the media and demonstrate to legislators that there is public support behind this legislation, please write a letter to the editor (LTE) in response to the editorials and articles and submit it to one of the following newspaper addresses:

Times: gcletters@sjnewsco.com Philadelphia Inquirer: Inquirer.Letters@phillynews.com Asbury Park Press: yourviews@app.com 3) Please send a short hand-written thank you note to the members of the Assembly health committee that voted in favor of A804. Tell them why you appreciate their vote and how important this legislation is to you.
Thank you for supporting MPP and our allies in New Jersey. With your help, New Jersey will become the 14th state to stop arresting sick and dying patients for using medical marijuana to relieve their suffering |
