Dear Supporter,
Two years ago today, you helped make New Jersey the 14th state to allow access to medical marijuana. But
patients like Diane Riportella are still enduring unnecessary pain
because they cannot safely and legally access their medicine.
Diane
suffers from ALS, an incurable disease better known as Lou Gehrig’s
disease. ALS attacks the nerve cells resulting in muscle weakness and
atrophy, eventually leading to death. Unlike other medicines, marijuana
eases her pain, renews her life and gives her the strength to keep
going.
Why should patients like Diane continue to suffer needlessly?
Urge
Health Commissioner Mary O’Dowd to implement New Jersey’s medical
marijuana program so that chronically ill patients like Diane can safely
access the medicine they need without further delay.
Diane
is saddened and enraged that she has to spend the last days of her life
fighting for the right to use and safely access the medicine that best
relieves her suffering. She needs your help.
You
have the chance to transform the lives of sick patients like Diane by
demanding that the Health Commissioner implement New Jersey’s medical
marijuana program today.
Sincerely,
Roseanne Scotti State Director, New Jersey Drug Policy Alliance
