State Attorney General Kelly Ayotte has no idea what a seriously ill patient experiences.
People with chronic or terminal diseases should have the freedom to use anything at their disposal to relieve their suffering. Some with multiple sclerosis have tried cannabis, and it relieved the spasms in their legs. The use of cannabis was done in a clandestine fashion to avoid being arrested. House Bill 648 would make sure seriously ill patients have safe and legal access to cannabis if their doctors recommend it.
The use of cannabis could be used as a tool in treating multiple sclerosis along with a cane, a walker or a wheelchair if necessary. Passing HB 648 would at least give victims of MS an option in their treatment. Ayotte stated that marijuana use leads to the use of other drugs. What other drugs is she talking about? Some of the drugs used now by seriously ill patients are strong enough to kill a horse.
If you could walk a mile in their shoes, you would understand. Governor Lynch, show more compassion than Kelly Ayotte and sign HB 648. |
