House Vote Kills Bill Loosening Pot Rules

A bill to decriminalize possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana (HB 555) died in the House of Representatives on Wednesday night. The House vote was 207-108 to kill the measure.

The legislation is one of four bills on marijuana and drug use, two to stiffen legal restrictions and two to loosen them. The vote Wednesday was the first to get final action while the other three remain in committee.
