Re "Dangers of marijuana" (Monitor letter, Oct. 5):
I'm not trying to be disrespectful to the writer or to police officers, whom I have very high respect for. And I'm not a pot smoker or even a fan of the stuff.
But it only make sense that people who get involved with marijuana would seldom like officers or authority, It's illegal and brings attention to them even if they are not doing anything but smoking their marijuana.
I have smoked it in the past and I have drunk liquor, as most adults have. I believe pot is much less harmful to us than alcohol, which is legal.
People who smoke pot do get an unfair deal. They should have that freedom and not be arrested for something they enjoy that is in most cases less harmful than other stuff. |
