You did it! Bad DUID bill soundly defeated in NH House

Published: January 13, 2010

The New Hampshire House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly to defeat H.B. 665, a DUID bill that would have made it illegal to drive while impaired with chemical metabolites in one’s system. After some heated debate on the bill, the House voted 274 to 85 against the committee recommendation to pass the bill. Then on a motion of Rep. Beth Rodd (D – Merrimack), the House voiced its desire to kill the bill as inexpedient to legislate.

Thank you to all of you who responded to calls-to-action by MPP and our grantee Matt Simon of the New Hampshire Coalition for Common Sense Marijuana Policy. Your 608 e-mails to representatives helped to ensure that this wasteful, unscientific bill won’t see the light of day.

With your help, we will continue the fight for common-sense reform of marijuana policy in New Hampshire. Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

Eric McDaniel
