N.H. residents: Don't miss free screenings of medical marijuana documentary

New Hampshire residents have two opportunities in the upcoming weeks to attend a free screening of the award-winning medical marijuana documentary Waiting to Inhale. NHCompassion.org will be hosting a screening at Keene State College on Monday, February 9 and in Nashua on Saturday, February 21.

What: Waiting to Inhale screening, followed by a discussion with Rep. Charles Weed (D-Keene); Matt Simon, the Executive Director of NH Common Sense Marijuana Policy; and cancer survivor and patient advocate Barbara Filleul.

Where: Mountain View Room, 3rd floor of the L.P. Young Student Center at Keene State College

When: Tuesday, February 9, 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

This event is sponsored by Keene State Students for Sensible Drug Policy and NHCompassion.org.

NHCompassion.org is hosting another screening of Waiting to Inhale on Saturday, February 21, at Nashua Public Library at 10:00 a.m.

These screenings come on the heels of the introduction of HB 648, a bill that will protect patients and their caregivers from being arrested, prosecuted, and convicted for possessing and growing limited amounts of medical marijuana. It also would protect doctors from arrest, prosecution, and conviction for recommending medical marijuana.

If you haven't already done so, please contact your state legislators and urge them to support this compassionate legislation.

Waiting to Inhale was produced and directed by Jed Riffe and was partially funded by the Marijuana Policy Project's grants program. The film examines the medical marijuana debate up close by taking you inside the lives of patients, doctors, and activists, while seeking to understand why opponents support the continued criminalization of our sick and dying.

Waiting to Inhale has already played to critical acclaim, having won the 2005 CINE Golden Eagle Award, the Gold Special Jury Remi Award at the 38th Annual WorldFest-Houston, and the 2005 Best Documentary Film/Video at the New Jersey International Film Festival.

If you suffer from a serious illness or injury, or if you are a medical professional, please write Zane@mpp.org to see how you can be of special help.

Thank you for supporting the Marijuana Policy Project and all of our allies. Please pass this alert along to anyone you know who might be interested in attending this event.
