N.H. legislature sends medical marijuana bill to Gov. Lynch — call now
Late Wednesday afternoon, the New Hampshire House and Senate approved an amended version of HB 648, the medical marijuana bill. It now heads to Gov. John Lynch (D), who can sign it into law, veto it, or let it become law without his signature.
Please call Gov. Lynch now and urge him to sign HB 648. Then follow up with an e-mail to his office.
The legislature's vote today comes after a committee of conference of House and Senate members approved an amended version of HB 648 last week. They amended the original version passed by the House and Senate to address eight concerns Gov. Lynch had about the original version of the bill.
However, Gov. Lynch has still not said that he will sign the bill. We have to make sure that he sees as much public support for this bill as possible. So please contact his office now. And forward this message to your friends, family, and e-mail lists and encourage them to contact him too.
MPP is going to start airing radio and television ads featuring New Hampshire patients who can benefit from medical marijuana this week. The ads call on Gov. Lynch to sign HB 648. Please make a contribution to MPP so we can keep these ads on the air for as long as necessary.
Thank you for your support; with your help we can make New Hampshire the 14th state to stop arresting and prosecuting seriously ill patients for using medical marijuana. |
