N.H. House vote on medical marijuana bill tomorrow

"There is no right way to do the wrong thing."
~Rep. Peter Batula (R-Merrimack)

Currently a woman in Allenstown is suffering from multiple sclerosis. A man in Nashua is unable to work or spend time with his family because of his debilitating pain. A Somersworth resident wasted away to a dangerous 79 pounds due to muscular dystrophy. All of them have found relief from medical marijuana. Yet Rep. Batula says it's "the wrong thing" to stop treating these Granite Staters like criminals for relieving their terrible symptoms.

But on Wednesday, legislators could take a huge step toward offering these suffering patients some relief. The full House is expected to vote on HB 648 tomorrow, a bill that would allow seriously ill patients to use medical marijuana with their physicians' recommendations.

If you have not already done so, please take a moment now to contact your legislators in support of HB 648. Thank you to everyone who has already contacted your legislators. Please forward this message to your friends and family in New Hampshire so they can take action too. Please, make sure representatives hear from the 71% of New Hampshire voters who believe that compassion for the sick and dying is the right thing.

If you are able to make it to Concord on Wednesday morning, please try to do so. Volunteers are going to gather on Wednesday morning at 8:30 a.m. to hand out information to the representatives as they enter the House chambers. Others will also be standing outside holding signs encouraging the representatives to support HB 648.

Please contact Matt Simon for more details if you would like to help out. If you are planning to volunteer, please dress professionally. Image does matter with legislators and we want to put our best faces forward.

Thank you for supporting MPP and our allies. Now is the time to get involved to protect New Hampshire's seriously ill and suffering patients!
