N.H. House passes medical marijuana bill!
Yesterday, March 25, the House voted 234-138 in favor of the medical marijuana bill. This vote is the first time that an effective medical marijuana bill has passed either chamber in New Hampshire. The bill now goes to the Senate, which will schedule a public hearing on it soon.
The momentum is on our side and the New Hampshire media recognize it. The Nashua Telegraph, Concord Monitor, and Union Leader all have articles today on the bill. Medical marijuana patients need you to show your support by writing a letter to the editor of one of these papers. If you would like help with your letter, please e-mail me at Zane@mpp.org. It's very important that the senators and Gov. Lynch see the public support for this bill.
Thank you to everyone who took time to write and call your representatives in support of HB 648; it would not have passed without your help! Because of your efforts, suffering New Hampshire residents are one step closer to getting the protection they deserve. Please take a moment now to thank the representatives who voted in favor of the bill. You can find out who your representatives are here and how they voted here.
Thank you for supporting MPP and our allies in New Hampshire. Please pass this message to other people you know in New Hampshire so they can join the effort. With your help, New Hampshire will become the 14th state to stop arresting patients for using medical marijuana. |
