Title:

N.H. House and Senate will decide fate of patients next Wednesday!

Message:

It came as no surprise when Gov. John Lynch vetoed SB 409 today. All eyes will now be on the House and Senate next Wednesday, June 27, when both chambers will vote on whether or not to override the veto.

Fortunately, Sen. Jim Forsythe (R-Strafford) has refused to give up. He published a powerful editorial this week in the Concord Monitor, and he is still working hard to convince his colleagues they should override the veto and pass SB 409 into law.

The House has twice passed SB 409 by better than the two-thirds margin needed for an override. In the Senate, an additional vote or two will be needed, so if your senator is one of the nine remaining no votes (click here to find out), it’s very important that you contact him or her today! Please also send a message to your representatives asking them to vote for the override. With 400 members in the House, there are frequent absences. It’s important your representatives know you want them to be there to support patients.

Please forward this to friends and family in New Hampshire. Together, we can protect New Hampshire patients from arrest.
