Title:
New bill begins journey to New Hampshire governor’s desk
Message:
I’m pleased to announce that HB 573, New Hampshire’s medical marijuana bill, has been introduced and will soon be considered by the House Committee on Health, Human Services, and Elderly Affairs. HB 573 is the bill we hope to have signed by Gov. Hassan in May or June of this year!
Contact your representatives today and tell them 2013 must be the year we protect New Hampshire patients!
As reported by the Associated Press, the new bill would allow qualifying patients to cultivate up to four mature plants or to designate a caregiver who would cultivate for the patient. It would also allow for the creation of five non-profit Alternative Treatment Centers (ATCs), which would serve patients who do not wish to cultivate.
If you are a patient, medical professional, or clergy member and would be willing to testify or submit written testimony in support of HB 573, please contact me at msimon@mpp.org so we can present a well-coordinated message at the hearing.
Additionally, although MPP is focusing solely on HB 573, we know that many of our members are interested in other reforms. Click here if you’d like information on three bills that would reduce or eliminate marijuana penalties in New Hampshire.
