Gov. Gary Johnson meeting and medical marijuana bill hearing coming up
Published: February 23, 2011
In exciting medical marijuana news, Rep. Evalyn Merrick (D-Coos), a cancer
survivor, introduced H.B. 442,
and it will be heard by the House
Health, Human Services, & Elderly Affairs Committee on March 1 at 10:00
a.m. in LOB
205. In
2009, Rep. Merrick’s legislation passed both chambers by strong margins before
Gov. Lynch ultimately vetoed it.
Please ask your
representative to support the medical marijuana bill, H.B. 442!
If you are a supportive nurse, doctor, or law enforcement professional, or
you know one, please contact Kirk McNeil, executive director of NH
Compassion at kirk@mkmcneil.com,
as we’d like you to testify. Seriously ill patients can also coordinate with
Kirk. Whether or not you’ll be testifying, we urge you to support patients by
attending the hearing, dressed in professional attire.
Also, on Friday, February 25 at 1 p.m., NH Compassion will be having an
organizing meeting (with free appetizers) at Blake’s
Restaurant in Manchester.
Former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson, a leading
national critic of the War on Marijuana, will be the guest speaker. Kirk
and Matt Simon (who now works for Gov. Johnson) will discuss how to deliver
effective testimony. We hope all medical marijuana supporters can attend!
