Action alert — N.H. medical marijuana bill headed to the Senate floor!

Seriously ill medical marijuana patients in New Hampshire are one step closer to being allowed to use their medicine without fearing arrest. Earlier today, the New Hampshire Senate Health and Human Services Committee voted 4-1 to recommend HB 648 "ought to pass." The House has already approved the bill, and the full Senate is expected to vote on the bill next week.

Please contact your state senator now and urge him or her to vote in favor of the bill. Next, please take a moment now to ask Gov. Lynch (D) not to stand in the way of this compassionate bill that 71% of New Hampshire voters support. Gov. Lynch has said that he has concerns about the bill, but he hasn't threatened to veto it.

If HB 648 becomes law, seriously ill patients in New Hampshire would no longer face arrest and prosecution for using and growing marijuana with their doctors' recommendations. The bipartisan support from the committee today builds on the momentum from last month when the House voted 234-138 in favor of the bill.

We are getting very close to making New Hampshire the 14th state to stop criminalizing patients for using medical marijuana. But, for patients to finally get the relief they deserve, the full Senate still needs to pass HB 648 and Gov. Lynch needs to not veto it.

Please urge your state senator and Gov. Lynch to support the bill now.
