Student athletes on the McQueen Lancer Football team will be randomly drug tested for the Fall 2008 season.
The Washoe County School Board approved a pilot program Tuesday evening.
School District officials say each week a certain number of football players will be randomly drug tested for all sorts of illegal drugs, even steroids.
The program will only apply to McQueen football students, and just for this season.
In January of 2009, school board trustees will meet again to determine if the programs was successful and whether they should extend it to more sports and schools. |
