Title:
Taking off — in Nevada and nationally
Message:
Nevadans for Sensible Marijuana Laws has been having a very exciting April! We are making waves across the state and the ripples are being felt around the country.
On the home front, our signature drive has kicked into high gear. We have trained more than 100 volunteers and paid circulators, and signed petitions are starting to flow back to the campaign. If you are interested in collecting signatures, either as a volunteer or for payment, please sign up on our Web site.
Earlier this month, we held an event that caught the attention of the national media. We offered Sarah Palin — who was in town to give a speech to the alcohol industry — $25,000 if she would give a similar speech to our supporters and endorse the idea of a legal, regulated marijuana market.
Although Ms. Palin did not provide us with an official response, our offer was covered on the front page of The Huffington Post, mentioned during MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann, and was even the hook for an interview with the Marijuana Policy Project’s Steve Fox on the O’Reilly Factor on FOX News.
We are excited about the progress we are making on this campaign and hope that you are too. Please consider making a contribution to our campaign so that we can continue our signature drive and make sure an initiative to tax and regulate marijuana appears on the November 2012 ballot in Nevada
