Title:

Dispensary legislation passes Nevada Assembly!

Message:

Call or email Gov. Sandoval to ask him to sign the bill.

Nearly 13 years after voters passed an amendment to the Nevada Constitution allowing patients to use medical marijuana, the state Assembly passed SB 374. The bill would give patients access through a regulated dispensary system, summarized here. The Senate previously approved the bill, but it needs one more procedural Senate vote before the legislature adjourns today.

Patients and their providers are not quite out of the legal limbo just yet. The bill also still needs Gov. Brian Sandoval’ssignature. Please call or email to make your voice heard in the governor’s office. If you are a patient, doctor, or member of the clergy, please take a moment to share your story.

Then, please take a minute to thank the bill’s sponsors,Sen. Tick Segerblom and Sen. Mark Hutchison, who stood up for patients and delivered on the legislature's constitutional requirement to authorize an appropriate supply of medical marijuana.

The failure to authorize a clear system for marijuana producers and dispensaries created a legal limbo for many trying to provide marijuana to patients. Several high profile cases were the result, in which providers were prosecuted for trying to meet the needs of patients. SB 374 aims to fix that.

And please forward this message to other supporters, friends, and family!
