Title:

Act now to protect Montana medical marijuana patients!

Message:

On Friday, March 18 at 3:00 p.m., the House Human Services Committee will hear testimony on SB 326. This bill will improve Montana's current medical marijuana law. The Senate passed the bill last month by a vote of 28-22. Please contact your representatives in support of the bill now.

SB 326 improves the medical marijuana law by:

  • adding several serious illnesses to the list of conditions that can qualify a patient for the medical marijuana registry, including hepatitis C, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, agitation of Alzheimer's disease, and nail-patella syndrome;
  • increasing the amount of marijuana a patient and his or her caregiver is allowed to possess at any time to 3 ounces;
  • adding a provision to clarify the law so that simply being a registered patient is not cause to terminate one's employment or rental agreement or to modify one's child custody rights.

WHAT: House Human Services Committee hearing on SB 326
WHEN: Friday, March 18 at 3:00 p.m.
WHERE: Capitol Building, room 152

The hearing on Friday will be very important because we need a majority-vote of support in this committee to succeed. Please try to attend if you can make it to Helena on Friday afternoon.

In the meantime, please contact your state representative in support of this compassionate and commonsense bill now. Then pass this message on to your friends, family, neighbors, and e-mail lists in Montana. Thank you for supporting MPP and our allies in Montana.
