Drug Testing Firm Approved

OXFORD, Miss. — The Oxford High School will begin random drug testing in September.

The city school board this week hired Advance Screening Solutions of Jackson to do the screening.

School district officials say students who participate in competitive extracurricular activities and students with driving privileges will be subject to random drug testing on a monthly basis.

The consent forms have been sent home to parents of applicable students must be returned by September 1. If not returned, the student will not be able to participate on athletic teams or competitive extracurriculars. On-campus driving privileges will also be revoked.

Once the form is received, the student will have their privileges returned.
